Privacy Policy
How RewordGenerator.net handles your data: what we collect, when we save your text, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
At RewordGenerator.net ("we," "our," or "us"), your privacy is a priority. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using our website and tool. We keep this simple and transparent.
1. Definitions
- Service: The RewordGenerator.net website, rewording tool, and all related features.
- User: Any individual who accesses or uses the Service.
- Personal Data: Any information that can identify you directly or indirectly, such as your email address if you choose to provide it.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use the Service, such as the pages you visit and your browser type.
- Cookies: Small files stored on your device to help the site function properly and measure performance.
2. Information We Collect
We collect as little personal information as possible.
Text You Enter Into Our Tools. To produce your result, the text you paste or type is sent to our servers and to an outside AI provider (see section 8). If you use the tools without an account or on the free plan, we do not save your text or your result. If you have a paid plan (a subscription), we save each run, meaning the text you entered and the result, to your account's history. Saved runs are deleted after 90 days, and we keep at most your 500 most recent runs. If you have a paid plan, you can see your saved runs and delete one or all of them on your account page. After a paid plan ends, you can still delete them all there. We do not use your text to train AI models.
Account Information (if you create an account). If you create a free or paid account, we collect your name, your email address and your password, which we store only in hashed form, to manage your account and plan. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us instead.
Emailed results (if you ask for one). If you use “Email me this rewrite”, we send the result to the address you enter through our email provider and, with your consent, store that address together with the tool you used, the time you agreed and a one-way hash of your IP address (used to limit abuse), so we can send you product updates; the rewritten text itself is not stored.
Payment Data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Section 6 lists the payment records we keep.
Technical and Usage Data. We automatically collect technical data, including your browser and device type, your IP address and usage logs. We use it to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and understand how the site is used (see sections 5 and 6).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to:
- Operate and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage Premium subscriptions
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and disputes
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain site security and performance
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Section 5 explains what our analytics providers receive.
4. Data Security
Your security is central to how we build and maintain this tool.
Encryption. Any personal data we hold, such as account credentials, is protected with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
Limited Access. Only authorised team members with a legitimate operational need have access to systems containing user data.
Regular Monitoring. We monitor and update our systems regularly to protect against vulnerabilities and unauthorised access.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep the site working, for example to keep you signed in, and to understand how the site is used.
What we use to measure the site
- Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages and features people use. It sets its cookies (
_gaand_ga_TRCJ2T4Q6V) only when analytics is allowed, as explained below. - Our own visit counter, which records page views on our own servers and does not use cookies. It counts every visit, whatever you choose in the cookie banner.
Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors scroll and click, is switched off at the moment. If we switch it back on, we will update this section first. The boxes you type into and the parts of the page that show your results will stay hidden (masked) in its recordings.
If you are in the UK, the EU/EEA or Switzerland
We ask before Google Analytics may set cookies. A banner at the bottom of the page offers two buttons of equal weight, Accept and Reject. We decide whether to show it from the country your IP address points to.
- Before you choose, and after you reject: Google Analytics sets no cookies. Google still receives a basic signal for each page view, without a cookie that identifies your browser (Google calls this consent mode).
- After you accept: Google Analytics sets its cookies, so it can recognise your browser on later visits.
Everywhere else
Google Analytics sets its cookies without asking, and no banner appears. You can still turn them off at any time, as described below.
Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page to open the banner and change your choice, wherever you are. If you reject, we also delete the Google Analytics cookies already set. We save your choice in your browser, so you are not asked again on every page. If you are signed in, we also save it to your account.
Purchases
When you buy a plan and analytics is allowed, we pass your Google Analytics visitor ID to our payment provider with the purchase, so the sale can be linked to your visit in Google Analytics. If analytics is not allowed, we do not. If you reject analytics while signed in, we also stop linking your later payments.
Advertising cookies
We do not run ads. Google Analytics is set up so that it sets no advertising cookies: Google's advertising features (Google signals) are off, and advertising storage is turned off for every visitor. Microsoft Clarity, which can set Microsoft's advertising cookie (MUID), is not running.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Signing in may not work if you block all cookies.
6. Data Retention
Text You Enter. Without an account or on the free plan, we do not keep your text or results. On a paid plan, your saved runs are deleted after 90 days (see section 2). To delete them sooner, use your account page (see section 2) or email [email protected].
Account Data. If you have an account, we retain only the minimum information needed to operate your account and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We keep the payment records described below for the time stated there.
Usage Logs. We keep technical logs, including IP addresses and times, and a record of the tokens each run uses, to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. These are not linked to your input text.
Payment, usage and dispute records
To take payments, prevent fraud and answer payment disputes, we keep:
- your account details (name and email address) and when you created your account;
- when you signed in, with the IP address and browser information used;
- your purchases and subscription history: plan, amounts, dates, receipts, and the terms shown to you at checkout;
- when tokens were added to your account and when you used them;
- the billing emails we sent you.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe records details of each payment, such as the IP address and device used, to process it and prevent fraud. When you start a checkout, we also send Stripe the IP address and browser information you used, with the order. Emails are sent through SendGrid.
We keep these records while your account is open and for up to 24 months after your last payment, then delete them unless the law requires us to keep them longer (for example, tax records). We rely on our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access or request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Withdraw consent for optional features at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
8. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers for hosting, payment processing, email and analytics.
Payments. Stripe processes every payment and keeps its own record of it (see section 6).
Email. Our emails, including billing emails and any result you ask us to email you, are sent through SendGrid.
AI Providers. Our tools use outside AI models to produce your result, so the text you enter is sent to an AI provider: OpenAI (ChatGPT) first and, if it is unavailable, Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini). The provider returns the result to us, and we pass it to you.
Plagiarism Checks. Text you submit for a plagiarism check is sent to the checking service that produces your report.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data through the Service, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify Premium users by email where required.
